Levine Museum of the New South

Charlotte's only regional history museum focuses on the New South period. An interactive regional history museum features changing and traveling exhibits with a realistic, poignant view of Charlotte's past. It is the only museum in the nation concentrating exclusively on New South history.

Mint Museum of Art 

North Carolina’s first art museum features American and European paintings, pre-Columbian art, regional crafts, historic costumes, African art, gold coins minted in Charlotte and one of America’s outstanding collections of pottery and porcelain. Closed on Mondays.

Mint Museum of Craft & Design 

The renovated five-story Montaldo’s department store, designed by Charlotte architect Louis Asbury in 1953, the museum’s permanent collection documenting evolution of craft in ceramics fiber, glass, metal and wood. The museum traces the movement’s historical roots in the 19th century and relationships to traditional decorative arts and industrial design.

Paramount’s Carowinds Water and Theme Park

Operating from early spring to early fall, this 105-acre theme and water park has more than 50 attractions, including thrill rides like TOPGUN, the park’s biggest, tallest, fastest coaster, and the DROP ZONE stunt tower, along with musical revues and shows, plus a Nickelodeon Central children’s area, WaterWorks park, concerts and special events, plus a year-around campground.

Dale Earnhardt Retail Store and Showroom
The showroom is filled with items and memorabilia from Dale's years of wins and notable accomplishments in Busch competition. There are also items from Dale Jr's championship years and now Martin's have been added. More information.
Hendrick Motorsports Museum and Team Store
The 15,000-square-foot museum features memorabilia from Hendrick's 20 years in racing and is free and open to the public. The Hendrick Team Store is also located inside the museum, carrying a full line of apparel, die-cast models and collectibles. More information.
Lowe's Motor Speedway Tours
Three NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series events, two NASCAR Busch Series races, an Automobile Racing Club of America event, an American Speed Association race and a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event are among the major events held on the 1.5-mile superspeedway. More information
